  1. How do I pay for the service ?

    We accept payment by MasterCard, Visa and American Express credit cards.

  2. My mobile is not supported, what should I do ?

    On regular basis we are adding some new mobiles support. Most of the mobiles are going to be supported in 2007. If you cannot wait, please drop us an email at support@americascupanywhere.com and perhaps it will make us to change our priority for the next weeks.

  3. How much does Live Sailing Mobile cost ?

    Live Sailing Mobile's 2007 season fee for all the remaining 2007 Acts is $13.50. This price does not include the WAP or GPRS connection/usage fees that may be invoiced by your mobile operator as a result of your use of Live Sailing Mobile. The bandwidth usage for following a full race of around 1h30 is approximately 200 kbytes (around 2.2 kbytes per minute).

  4. What vendor name appears on my credit card statement ?

    It will be MNC SA, av. de la Gare 10, 1003 Lausanne. It's an Alcatel-Lucent Compagny in Switzerland.

  5. How do I cancel my subscription ?

    You can fill the Contact form (Accessible via the support button on the footer of the page) to cancel your subscription. Please include your first name, last name and adress, your reason for cancelling and any suggestions you have for improving our service. No refunds will be provided for cancelled services.

  6. What do I gain from activating Live Sailing Mobile ?

    Live Sailing Mobile will enable you to follow on your mobile all the 2005, 2006 and 2007 America's Cup match races and fleet races, both live and as archived content.

  7. How does Live Sailing Mobile is working ?

    Live Sailing Mobile is working thanks to the GPS which are installed in all the boats ad Buoys of the race. Each boat and buoy sends its position every second to your mobile; with this unique system you are able to see in real-time a real race.

  8. What is the delay between what I see and the real boats ?

    The delay is between 20 to 45 seconds depending of your connection type ( GSM, GPS, Edge or UMTS).

  9. How do I install Live Sailing Mobile ?

    Live Sailing Mobile is a Java application that runs on your mobile phone. To install it, you will receive an SMS with a WAP address (on Sony Ericsson P900, p910 and p910i it is a WAP push within the Internet Browser). Open the SMS, and choose “go to the site” with the left soft key of your mobile. Then choose “install the application”. You can either choose to install on your phone or on your memory card if you have one, depending on your available memory space.

  10. In which mobile phone operators can I activate Live Sailing Mobile ?

    Live Sailing Mobile is a mobile application that uses WAP and GPRS connections. Hence, it can work with all mobile operators provided you have subscribed the option giving you access to WAP, GPRS or web connections.

  11. When I want to download Live Sailing Mobile, a message tells me I don't have enough space. What should I do ?

    This only happens when you have downloaded lots of applications on your handset. Your memory is full, so you must first remove one of your downloaded applications (a game for e.g.), using the " tools " folder, in order to create available memory for Live Sailing Mobile.

  12. When I download Live Sailing Mobile, a message indicates me that this content is not safe. Why ?

    Each handset manufacturer has specific certifications with different companies. If the content hasn't been submitted to them, they might display such message. However, this content is fully safe, certified by Alcatel-Lucent and won't affect in any case your mobile phone's functionality.

  13. I don’t have a GPRS subscription, can I use Live Sailing Mobile ?

    Yes. Live Sailing Mobile is working perfectly with all type of networks : GSM, GPRS, Edge and UMTS. A very small amount of data is transferred during a race.

  14. How do I launch Live Sailing Mobile ?

    Once you have downloaded Live Sailing Mobile, the application is stored on your handset. Depending on the handset model, you can either access it directly from the phone main menu, or through the “Applications” menu. In any case, just highlight it, and click on it with the “5” key to launch it.

  15. When launching Live Sailing Mobile, a message asks me if I should authorise the application to use the network. What should I do ?

    Live Sailing Mobile retrieves all the race data using a GPRS or WAP data connection. You should authorise the on-line access in order to be able to use the application.

  16. When launching Live Sailing Mobile, a message asks me to choose an access point. What should I do ?

    You should use the GPRS, WAP or web network of the Operator who supplied your SIM card, with the network corresponding to your multimedia option with the carrier - ie. 3G if you are a 3G subscriber.

  17. I have the trial version of Live Sailing Mobile installed on my handset. How can I upgrade ?

    If you choose to install and activate the commercial version of Live Sailing Mobile it will replace the previously installed trial version. Please refer to the “how to install it” question for details of how to install the application. A message will ask you if you want to replace the existing version by the new one. Just click “yes” to validate your choice.

  18. Why does Live Sailing Mobile refuse to run on my mobile phone ?

    This should mainly be due to network problems: Live Sailing Mobile retrieves all the data through a data connection over the mobile network using GPRS or WAP access. Please make sure you have the proper access to GPRS or WAP with your carrier, and check on your handset screen the quality of the WAP or GPRS signal: you might be in a zone with poor coverage. You may also have chosen, when launching the application, the wrong access point (if you previously installed the SIM card of another carrier on your handset for example.) If such problems persist, please quit the application using the option softkey and launch it again. It should work now.

  19. My Live Sailing Mobile menu freezes and I cannot activate any commands. Why ?

    Your handset is regularly retrieving live content of the races; the image could very rarely freeze during the connection phase. In such case, just wait for a few seconds, and you will again be given full control of the application.

  20. How can I remove Live Sailing Mobile from my phone ?

    Remove Live Sailing Mobile by executing the following procedure:

    1. Go to the “Tools” folder of your handset and open it.
    2. Select the “Manager” sub-folder and open it.
    3. Move the selector to highlight Live Sailing and select “Remove” from the “Options” menu.
    Be careful, once you've removed Live Sailing Mobile from your handset, you may not be able to download it again.

  21. How are the Live Sailing Mobile race images produced ?

    We use the GPS real time data of the boats and buoys, which give us their accurate positions. The virtual images are reconstructed using this data, giving a very faithful rendering on what's happening on the water.

  22. Is it possible to access previous races ?

    Yes, the Archive menu gives you access to the previous races (including some of the 2005 races). You can watch them without limit and with same interactive features as live races.

  23. Does Live Sailing display all the America's Cup 2007 races ?

    Yes, you can watch all the America's Cup action with a single product. When several races are run simultaneously, you can shift from one race to another using the application main menu.

  24. What kind of race information can I view on Live Sailing ?

    In addition to an animation of the racing action, Live Sailing also provides a number of additional information sources including boat speeds, gap between boats etc…. Thanks to the intuitive interface, using your directional pad or the "4" and "6" keys, you can also display a console with a selection of the chosen virtual camera, display of a schematic view, of the rounding times and of the selected boat.
